Champion of Future Retail Challenge
I represented the Hong Kong PolyU to participate in The Future Retail Challenge at World Retail Congress in Madrid 2018 to compete against teams from London, New York, Madrid, Netherland.
We proposed a strategic and creative business plan to revitalize an abandoned location into a new customer experience: Transformation of an abandoned skyscraper into vertical farming services & 'retailtainment'
My original ideas of vertical farming were chosen by judges and my team for development.
I led my 4-person school team to bring the original visions into a fully workable project, including:
Original Concept Development
Market Research
Brand Materials
Business Proposals
Business Presentations
Mobile App Prototype
About the Idea
One day I noticed an abandoned skyscraper in my hometown, Guangzhou, and this idea has come to mind:
Abandoned buildings are scattered all over the world. If such an issue is not addressed properly with creativity and practicality, it not only entails the waste of land resources but also adversely affects the cityscape.
The V.Farm is therefore established to provide innovative and technological solutions to revitalize abandoned buildings with two underlying principles - profitability and sustainability.

Mobile APP Prototype
We wanted to be able to interact and provide omnichannel experiences to our judges and audience so we created a mobile app prototype to illustrates the V.Farm idea fully.
